Saturday, like so many of them, involved loading the truck with easels and paints to head somewhere to paint en plein air . . . . this time, IPAPA organized a paint-out at Holliday Park, in Indianapolis. It was, with out a doubt the most perfect weather in which to paint! Mid-80s, slight breeze, sunny and not too much pollen! I packed dinner and Marley Cat and headed the 13ish miles to the park with good painter friend. We arrived about 1pm and set-up . . . Marley and I were under a big tree near the Nature Center.
As the afternoon progressed, once in a while someone would stop to take a look at my canvas, talk a bit and pet Marley. Finally around 3:30, 4 o'clock I finished ( before over painting ) and headed to the nature center, because nature called, hee hee.
I took several paintings with me, along with five easels to set up for in exhibit there in the lobby. I saw quite a few painter friends and we got a chance to visit. At 5 PM the sales started . . . people meandered in and looked around. I think a total of two paintings were sold ( none of them were mine. ) We packed up around 7:30 and went home with good memories!
